A TOWN centre flat was badly damaged by fire.
The bedsit, on the seventh floor of Ibbotson flats in Southgate, Huddersfield was gutted.
Fire crews from Huddersfield, Elland and Slaithwaite attended the fire along with a specialist aerial appliance.
The seventh floor of the block had to be evacuated shortly before 8pm on Monday evening.
The occupant of the flat was out when the fire started in a bed settee in the living area.
The fire service is still investtigating the cause of the blaze.
