HUDDERSFIELD Town today released a brief statement about the arrest of coach Terry Yorath for alleged drink-driving.

The 54-year-old was arrested and bailed after an accident in Harrogate Road, Moor Allerton, in Leeds.

A woman in her 20s was hurt and taken to hospital.

A brief statement from the club said: "Huddersfield Town is aware that assistant manager Terry Yorath was involved in an accident in Leeds on Thursday June 24.

"We have very few details and therefore we do not wish to comment at this time."

Yorath, a former Leeds United and Wales player, was in his blue Jaguar when the alleged incident took place at 8.42pm last Thursday.

He was bailed pending further inquiries.

Yorath, who won 59 caps for his country, returned to the McAlpine for his second spell as assistant to Peter Jackson last season and the pair successfully guided Huddersfield to promotion.
