A LATE night shopping evening in Lindley was a big hit
Crowds flocked to Lidget Street last night to buy presents and sample traditional fayre.
Traders, dressed in Victorian costumes, opened their shops until 9pm for the charity event which was held in aid of the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.
This year's event was organised by designer children's footwear shop Jelly Beans and Mandy Barwick of the Trust.
Butcher Garry Butler, of Butler's Butchers said: "The organisers were jumping hoops. There were a lot of people, it was a smashing turnout."
Festive food including pie and peas, hot turkey sandwiches and mince pies and mulled wine were on offer.
There were also treasure and nativity trails and a magnificant Santa's grotto.
Author Ceri Wormald visited The Children's Book Shop.
Carol singing was enjoyed around a Christmas tree which was donated by Armitage's Garden Centre.
