A MAN had to be cut free from a car after it smashed into a wall and a lamp-post. The crash happened on Sheffield Road in Jackson Bridge at 7.48pm last night. The car, a purple Ford Fiesta, was travelling from Huddersfield towards Jackson Bridge when it left the road on a right hand bend. Fire crews had to cut off a roof and a door and use hydraulic rams to free one man. Another man suffered a broken shoulder blade. Police arrested one man on suspicion of drink driving.
