STAFF at a Huddersfield travel company swung into action to help customers as soon as they heard news of the tsunami tragedy.
Workers at Travel Experience Worldchoice in Kirkburton cut short their Christmas break to divert customers arriving in disaster-hit Thailand to the safe haven of Cambodia.
The business's managing director, Julie Bangham, is also holidaying in Cambodia with husband Neil.
The couple were due to leave their Siam Reap resort and travel to Phuket in Thailand to meet friends. They would have arrived at the resort hours before the tsunami struck - but decided to stay in Siam Reap a few days longer.
Julie said: "We had no clue what a major decision this proved to be. We were extremely lucky."
The couple managed to divert their friends before they reached Phuket and they, too, are now holidaying in Cambodia.
Julie said: "With the help of our staff back in England we have also re-directed most of our clients arriving in the Thai disaster area within the last few days and the next week to Cambodia.
"Our thoughts have very much been with everyone affected by the whole disaster."
