CHILDREN at a Linthwaite school who have been raising cash for Help The Aged have been given a special treat.

The pupils at Linthwaite Clough Junior, Infant and Early Years School, pictured, have been buying fashionable wristbands produced by the charity.

They have raised £200 in sales so far.

The bands were given to the school by Co-op Funeralcare, at Slaithwaite, which supports Help The Aged.

To show the children that the bands are more than a fashion accessory, Co-op Funeralcare arranged for the school's choir to attend a Thursday luncheon club for elderly people at St James' Church in Slaithwaite.

As a special treat, the children were transported to the church from school in Co-op Funeralcare limousines.

The choir performed for elderly people for about 45 minutes.
