A MAN was robbed by a trio of tree branch- wielding thieves after he visited his relatives’ graves.

The 29-year-old man was confronted by three men in a ginnel off Boothroyd Lane, Dewsbury at 6pm on Monday, shortly after he had left the graveyard close to Crow Nest Park.

The attackers were all carrying tree branches and one of the men approached the victim and demanded to be given everything he had.

Fearing for his safety he handed over his bag which contained his passport, phone, some cash and two books. The victim was not hurt.

The suspects are white men in their early to mid twenties. All were of average build and wore hooded tops and caps.

Inquiries into the robbery are ongoing and witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Dc 2687 Andy Clayton by ringing the police non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
