A LORRY towing a trailer overturned on the M62 outside Huddersfield and shed its load of Christmas trees.

The incident happened just after 1.20pm yesterday on the westbound carriageway near Hartshead Moor services.

Two lanes of the carriageway were blocked while the trees were cleared away.

A police spokeswoman said nobody had been injured

There were also problems overnight for drivers using the A6024 road over Holme Moss.

They found the A628 Woodhead Road blocked at the bottom of the hill after a lorry shed its load of thousands of batteries.

The road finally reopened at 7am today.
