YOUNGSTERS at a Huddersfield school raised charity cash with their Christmas concerts.

The pupils at Rawthorpe St James’ Infant and Nursery School raised £123 for Kirkwood Hospice.

The money has gone towards the hospice’s Light Up A Life appeal which is there to remember lost loved ones at Christmas.

For the past 12 years a light has shone on the hospice tree for the Family and Friends of Rawthorpe St James’ Infant and Nursery School.

Pupils from the school council went to the hospice with their donation and to look at the tree along with the remembrance Book Of Lights.

Jane Dutton from Kirkwood Hospice said: “Everyone who dedicated a light received a card to say that a light was shining on the tree for their special person whose name was entered in Kirkwood’s Book of Lights.

“This remains on constant display at the hospice.’’
