A TEENAGER charged with causing the death of 17-year-old Christian Lang by dangerous driving could stand trial in September.
Daniel Neary, of Greenfield Road, Upperthong, appeared before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing.
The 18-year-old is also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance on Meltham Road on July 24 last year.
Christian, a former Honley High School and Huddersfield New College student of Broombank, Birkby, was rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary after the VW Golf he was a passenger in collided with a Skoda Fabia on Meltham Road, near the Big Valley Garage, near Netherton, at 11.20pm on Friday, July 24.
He died the following day.
Two female passengers suffered minor injuries. Two people were cut from the Skoda and taken to hospital.
Judge Scott Wolstenholme confirmed that a plea and case management hearing would take place on May 20 with a provisional trial date set for September 27.
Neary was granted bail until his next appearance at the crown court.
