A MAN distracted staff at a doctor’s surgery while his two accomplices stole from a back room.

Now we want people to name him.

The man walked into the surgery on Greenside in Cleckheaton at 3pm on Bonfire Night.

He distracted staff while two other men searched through pockets of coats hanging up. They stole an MP3 player, a mobile phone and a small amount of cash.

All three thieves are white and aged 22 to 27.

The man who distracted the staff is slim and pale, with a spotty, unshaven chin.

He has short blond hair.

He wore a pale blue and white checked shirt, beige jacket, dark blue jeans and a pale blue checked baseball cap.

One of his accomplices wore a pale blue hooded coat. The other wore a black baseball cap.

Smash-and-grab for cigarettes

A GANG committed a smash and grab raid at a post office – and all for the sake of some cigarettes.

We know the car they were driving and have now appealed for information.

The grey Fiat Punto pulled up outside New Mill Post Office at 1.30am on Wednesday. Four men wearing grey hooded tops got out and smashed the main window with a hammer.

They stole cigarettes and a small amount of cash. They were last seen speeding away towards Brockholes.

The car has an 03 registration plate.

Middle-aged thief

A MIDDLE-AGED thief sneaked into a house in Thornton Lodge and stole a black leather handbag.

The man got into the home on Moorbottom Road through an unlocked door at 5pm on Wednesday, but was seen escaping.

He is of mixed race and in his early 50s and wore a black overcoat.
