THE festive season means its a busy time for shoppers.

But it’s not only the honest people who are on the lookout for Christmas presents.

The upturn in shoppers and sales brings a rise in shoplifting offences.

The person who is the subject of this week’s photo appeal, above, is suspected of stealing stocking fillers from a shop on New Street, Huddersfield. She is thought to have entered the store at 4.50pm on November 17, picked a £5 child’s toy from the shelves before placing it in one of three carrier bags she had with her. She then suspected of leaving the shop without paying.

The suspect is white, with long blonde hair, in her early 30s, of medium build and around 5ft 3ins tall. She wore a green jacket, black leggings and black boots.

Anyone who can help to identify her is asked to contact PC 4788 Lee Brooke at the Huddersfield NPT via 101.
