SURE Start Children’s Centres across Kirklees are encouraging dads with young ones under five to get involved with their local centre.
The Dads’ Groups encourage fathers and male carers to spend time with their children, offering activities they can do together.
Craig Wright who leads a successful Dads’ Group in Dewsbury said: “It’s not only great fun but it also breaks down the traditional stereotypes of mum looking after the kids while dad goes out to work.
“Whether you’re a working dad or not you have a valuable role to play in your child’s life.”
The group in Dewsbury runs once a fortnight on a Saturday morning from the Flatts and Eastborough Children’s Centre in the town centre at 25 Westgate.
