TUES AM: Improvements to Huddersfield's rail network to cost millions

MILLIONS of pounds are to be spent on improving rail services in and out of Huddersfield.

MILLIONS of pounds are to be spent on improving rail services in and out of Huddersfield.

A new package of improvements was unveiled today - costing £530m across the north of England.

Key proposals include more trains on the busy trans-Pennine line linking Leeds and Manchester through Huddersfield.

Network Rail are promising at least six trains an hour at peak times on the busy line.
