GRITTING crews are braced for a busy night across Kirklees.
More than 30 crews are to be drafted in to cover hundreds of miles of roads as up to six inches of snow are forecast for tonight. Lower ground may get up to two inches of snow.
The gritting operation will also revert back to the pre-Christmas roads list, which covers 60% of the network in Kirklees in a bid to keep open main bus routes and roads leading to schools.
Over the past few weeks, a much-reduced network has been treated because of grit shortages.
Check back on www.examiner.co.uk in the morning for any school closures or details of traffic and transport affected by snow falls.
