IT is hard to keep a secret from Robert Phipps

The TV body language guru can read volumes in a person’s posture and behaviour.

Robert is especially well known for his analysis of the body language of top politicians – meaning that he will be in greater demand than ever when the General Election comes around.

Before then, he is heading to Huddersfield to give a free public lecture entitled ‘What your body says, despite the best efforts of your mouth’.

Local people will be able to hear and see in person an expert who appears frequently on TV.

He is the resident body language expert on Trisha Goddard’s daytime show on Five and has been called on to analyse the behaviour of politicians for the BBC, ITN, GMTV and Sky News.

Robert is also co-author of five books, including ‘Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus’ and is renowned as a public speaker and trainer.

The Huddersfield lecture is organised by the Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences of the University of Huddersfield.

It takes place tomorrow (5.45pm) in room T5/09 of the university’s Technology Building.

Dr Viv Burr, who is Reader in Psychology within the Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences, said: “It is a topic that is of great interest to students and to staff, and this lecture will broaden the general public’s awareness and understanding of it”.

The lecture is free and refreshments will be served. All are welcome, but please contact Katie Baron 01484 471150 (k.j.baron@hud.ac.uk) to reserve a place.
