Two men have been arrested following a police chase in Huddersfield.

Police pursued a car along Bradford Road on Wednesday night, before it crashed into a wall.

Det Insp George Bardell of Kirklees CID said a white Mercedes A180 stolen following a burglary in Hill Top Road, Salendine Nook, failed to stop when asked by officers on the ring road and made off at speed, accelerating up Bradford Road.

The 23-year-old driver lost control on Ashbrow Road, mounted the pavement and collided with a wall.

He was arrested as well as a 19-year-old who was also in the vicinity.

The two men are now in custody being interviewed over a number of matters.
