TWO men arrested in connection with a shooting in Huddersfield have appeared in court.

The pair were detained on Tuesday following reports of gunfire on Gilbert Grove in Crosland Moor. Christopher Boltwood, 26, of Roundway in Honley appeared in Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Joel Liburd, 29, from Walpole Road in Crosland Moor was charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

The pair were remanded in custody and will appear in court again next week. A 23-year-old who handed himself in to police on Wednesday was released on bail yesterday. Detectives are still investigating the incident, which led to the West Yorkshire Police helicopter being scrambled.
