TWO teenagers are to stand trial in March accused of murdering Brighouse-born grandfather John Greer.

Claire Hardy, 18, of Close Lea Way in Rastrick and Reece Gledhill, also 18, of no fixed abode, both entered not guilty pleas to the murder charge when they appeared before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

Mr Greer, 60, was found dead at his home in Arncliffe Crescent, Rastrick, in September.

The father-of-five, who had worked on building sites and as a roadsweeper, had been strangled and had his throat cut.

After legal discussions about the progress of the case, the Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge James Stewart QC confirmed that their trial was fixed to start on March 8. He remanded both defendants back into custody.

Following Mr Greer's death it emerged that one of his sons, 26-year-old Darrell Greer, had been stabbed to death during a fight in Aldershot back in 1996.
