A POLICE chase ended in a crash at one of Huddersfield’s busiest road junctions.

Two men were taken to hospital following the drama near the town centre yesterday.

It began at the junction of Leeds Road and St Andrew’s Road near Bradley Mills when a light beige Rover hatchback car failed to stop for a police patrol at 1.20pm.

It was chased for half-a-mile down St Andrew’s Road before the crash at the main Aspley traffic lights.

A 27-year-old Birkby man driving the Rover was arrested and later released on police bail. He had suffered injuries and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The driver of one of two other cars involved in the accident also had to receive hospital treatment.

The cars were a blue VW Touran and a blue Nissan Almera.
