TWO people jumped for their lives from a blazing building last night.
The pair leapt from a first floor window as the fire raged at Fieldhead Gardens in Dewsbury.
Two other residents were rescued by a neighbour and another person was saved by firefighters who put a ladder up to the window of her first floor flat.
The fire started around 5.45pm when a sofa was set alight outside the block of flats in the Shaw Cross area of the town.
The flames fractured a gas pipe and the building was heavily smoke-logged.
Two fire crews from Dewsbury and one from Morley spent more than three hours at the scene.
Paramedics and gas board workers were also sent to the flats.
