Two men have appeared in court accused of breaking into a petrol station.

Jamie Letremy, 33, of Browning Road, Deighton and James Winter, 31, of Miln Road in Birkby, were before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Both are charged with burgling Brockholes Service Station in the early hours of Saturday (July 2).

The men allegedly smashed their way into the premises before making off with the cash float. Letremy is further accused of a burglary at a convenience store in Blacker Road, Birkby, on June 2.

From there he allegedly took up to £3,000 worth of cigarettes.

Letremy is then alleged to have taken more than £700 worth of cigarettes during a raid on the Co-op store in Netherton on June 30.

District Judge David Scanlon committed the men’s case to Leeds Crown Court.

They will first appear there on August 1 and were remanded in custody.
