A GLEAMING new car will be handed over to a new owner in Huddersfield in just three days time.

The £6,000 Kia Picanto – top prize in an Examiner competition – will be won at the Kingsgate Centre on Saturday.

Ten finalists selected from those who entered the Examiner’s Win a Car contest will do battle to drive away the car, donated by Longley Park Motors.

Each finalist will enter the Examiner Booth to try and grab golden prize tickets, in a game modelled on one pioneered by the TV show The Crystal Maze.

Here are two more of Saturday’s finalists

Ross Allen, 19, of Fixby, is a student at Manchester University.

Ross, who is a keen Huddersfield Town fan, is studying chemistry. He said: “I don’t have a car at the moment, so the chance to win a Kia Picanto is a great opportunity”.

Home care assistant Mrs Susan Steadman lives in Scarr Green Close, Meltham.

She is 52 and is married to Shaun, and the couple have four children and one grandchild.

She said: “The car I drive at the moment is full of problems, so I’d love to pick up the keys to a new car”.
