FLY-TIPPING has landed two people in trouble in Kirklees.

Luke Farnell, of Walkley Lane in Heckmondwike, pleaded guilty at Dewsbury Magistrates Court, on May 6, to tipping a bag of waste on land at Brooke Street, Heckmondwike, last November.

He was fined £150 plus a £15 victim surcharge and costs of £100.

At Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court on May 11, Bakshish Singh of Manchester Road, Longroyd Bridge, pleaded guilty to throwing two pieces of timber on to the A62 Manchester Road at Longroyd Bridge and failing to pay a Fixed Penalty Notice for the offence.

He was fined £30 with a £15 victim surcharge and £100 costs.

Both prosecutions were brought by Kirklees Council under the Environmental Protection Act (1990).
