TWO teenagers have fallen victim to knife-wielding robbers in Kirklees.

The crimes are unconnected, but police are concerned that the two victims were both threatened with knives.

A 15-year-old boy was listening to music on his mobile phone while walking on a footpath off Silver Street in Aspley just before 9am on Tuesday.

The mugger came up behind him, held a knife to his face and demanded the Sony Ericsson phone which the terrified victim handed over.

Police have a detailed description of the robber.

He is white, aged about 17 and 5ft 10ins tall with short black hair, brown eyes and a pale, skinny face that was unshaven.

He wore a loose-fitting navy blue T-shirt, low slung jeans tucked into his socks and a blue fleece tied around his waist.

He wore a tight-fitting baseball cap with a small peak and a black stripe down the side.

The second robbery happened at 9.40pm on Tuesday on Forge Lane in Thornhill Lees.

A 19-year-old man was confronted by two youths who threatened him with a knife and pushed him up against a wall.

The knife was then held against his neck and he was forced to hand over his Apple iPod and Samsung D900 mobile phone along with a small amount of cash.

The thieves walked off and got into a car parked nearby which was driven off towards Dewsbury.

The knifeman is white, aged 18 or 19, around 6ft tall with a pale face and dark ginger or light brown hair that was short and thick. He wore a jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

His accomplice is white, 6ft and slim and wore a black Adidas jacket with the hood up and something dark covering his face. Det Con Russ Conlon, of Kirklees CID, said: “Any offence that involves a weapon such as a knife is dealt with extremely seriously.

“The description of the robber who struck at Aspley is particularly detailed and we’d like to hear from anyone who can put names to the thieves.’’

Anyone with information about either robbery or the thieves should contact detectives at Kirklees CID on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
