A court order to remove travellers illegally camped on school grounds is expected to be issued today.
Irish travellers moved 10 caravans and several other vehicles onto playing fields outside Salendine Nook High School Academy last Monday.
Eight of the caravans left on Friday leaving two on a field next to New Hey Road.
An order to evict them is expected to be granted today at the High Court in Leeds giving the travellers until Wednesday to leave.
Neighbours have complained about travellers leaving rubbish and using the campus as an outdoor toilet.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I won’t let my kids play there until they’re gone.”
Lindley councillor Cahal Burke said evicting travellers from the site could be complicated as ownership of the land is split between the school, Huddersfield New College and Kirklees Council.
Clr Burke said: “Perhaps we will have to look at the entry system but there are different ownerships.”
The same travellers are thought to have attempted to camp on Heatherleigh playing fields, off Lindley Moor Road, last week.
