A YOB who calls himself The Asbo Kid and put pictures of himself with a gun on the internet has been given a banning order.

Jacob Thompson, 17, of Dewsbury, leader of the so-called Westtown Warriorz, agreed to be bound by the Asbo, which bans him from entering any part of Westtown for two years.

Thompson’s name can be revealed for the first time after Dewsbury magistrates agreed to lift an order banning its publication.

Despite efforts by his solicitor, Simon Lindley, to continue the no-naming order – imposed in January – JPs decided to lift it.

They had heard how the order had technically already been broken by Thompson, or one of his friends, after images of him holding a rifle were posted on the internet.

On the same site the yob lists his likes, which include ‘getting drunk’ and ‘getting stoned’.

He goes on: “Well dis is me Jake, I'm 16, left school and am from Westtown . . . me da asbo kid inabit.”

Prosecutor Natalie Dunn said Thompson had wreaked havoc in the streets around his former home.

She told the court of 11 separate incidents in November and December last year, involving shouting, swearing and drinking in the street.

Two of the incidents involved spitting at a resident and urinating in a garden.

Ms Dunn said Thompson had entered a youth centre from which he was banned on January 25 this year.

She added: “He had been refused entry because of his previous behaviour.

"He started play fighting with other youths in front of people.

“He threw plastic chairs, one of which bounced off a wall and hit a member of staff on the leg, leaving a bruise.

“He tried to return again later that evening.’’

Ms Dunn said Thompson and his mother had been offered counselling meetings on four occasions and had only accepted once.
