TYRES worth more than £2,000 have been stolen from a lorry.

Thieves broke a padlock to get into a container lorry at the Hartshead Moor service station on the M62.

They then made off with the tyres.

It is believed the tyres were stolen between midnight and 5am yesterday.

The Volvo HGV lorry was at a rest stop.

Police are now appealing for motorists to get in touch if they were at the service station when the incident took place.
