A KIRKBURTON firm has won a contract to provide translation services for the United Nations.
Applied Language Solutions won the tender to translate a 15,000-word report on industrial development from English into French and Spanish.
The report, produced by the UN's Industrial Development Organisation, examines how far developing countries have narrowed the poverty gap with wealthier nations.
Applied Language Solutions has 20 days to complete the task.
The firm has had to show its translators had the expertise to translate text dealing with economic and development issues and documents with tables and figures.
Managing director Gavin Wheeldon said: "We are very excited and proud to have been awarded this contract."
