UNIVERSITY staff have been recognised for their long service.

Thirty-nine veteran employees were honoured at Huddersfield University on Monday. Gifts included decanters and glasses, diamond earrings, clocks and watches.

Tom Anderson, Dr Kathleen Chirema, Dr Cathy Doggett and Sylvia Hepworth have completed 40 years service.

Twelve workers were recognised for completing 35 years. They were: Dr Clive Hunt, Prof Colin Bamford, Prof John Thompson, Frank Withey, Dr John Turner, Jack Briggs, Alison Shaw, Adrian Lee, Martin Smith, Phyllis Fletcher-Cook, Dr Shelagh Brooke and Prof Mike Page.

The following staff have done 30 years service: Janet Goodridge, Margaret Mazurkiewicz, Dr John Cook, David Wosencroft, Joyce Brown, Maxine Rowlands, Patricia O’Sullivan, Katherine Padgett, Patricia Durkan, Julie Stakes, Susan Hilton and Dr Ray Annable.

Eleven were honoured for 25 years service: Maurice Senior, Janet Willett, Paul Reynolds, Jane Kaye, Susan Hobbs, Elizabeth Boulton, Elizabeth McNeill, Eileen Hiller, Lorraine Noel, Colin Smith and Prof Eric Blyth.
