PHYSIOTHERAPY students are getting ready to help wounded soldiers.

Most of the third year physio class at the University of Huddersfield have signed up for a 10-kilometre run in aid of Help for Heroes.

Twenty-five students and lecturers Jonathan Flynn and Sarah Chipperfield will take on the Leeds Abbey Dash next month.

Student Tom Foulstone has organised the fundraising effort. He said: “The main reason we’re doing this is because Jonathan Flynn is a big supporter of Help for Heroes.

“There are seven students who can’t do the run because of work or family commitments, but nearly all the class have signed up which is really good.”

The runners will go from Leeds City Hall to Kirkstall Abbey and back on November 22.

Tom, 28, said: “I do it every year and it’s my favourite run because it’s on the flat. It’s a good way to set a personal best.

“I can’t wait, I’m really looking forward to it.”
