Uni activist arrested again
A HUDDERSFIELD student due to face trial for sedition has been arrested again. Ben Chiza Mkandawire was charged with sedition and holding a demonstration without written police permission following a protest in Malawi in November. The University of Huddersfield politics student was arrested again in the African country earlier this month. Police accused Mr Mkandawire of inciting street vendors to protest against Malawi’s president Bingu wa Mutharika. The activist was later released on police bail.
