THE University of Huddersfield participates in a Commonwealth scholarship scheme every year.

The Shared Scholarship Scheme is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and UK universities to support students from developing Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK.

The awards are made for specific courses which are relevant to the economic, social or technological development of the candidate’s own country.

Many alumni are now in key development roles in their home countries.

The university has participated in the scheme for 15 years and welcomed scholars from places including India, Ghana, Kenya, Pakistan and Malaysia.

This year the university is hosting two women scholars from India and Kenya, one studying MSc Health and Social Care and the other on MSc Food and Nutrition.
