A SERVICE to remember those who fell for their country is being held at Birdsedge war memorial tomorrow.

A SERVICE to remember those who fell for their country is being held at Birdsedge war memorial tomorrow.

Guests will include Col Sandra Bignell, of the United States Air Force.

Her visit renews a link dating back to the Second World War, when Americans were billeted in Birdsedge.

Tomorrow's ceremony is at 10.45am, with a two minutes' silence at 11am.

This is followed by refreshments in the village hall. Children from Birdsedge First School will sing at the service.

Proceeds from a raffle will go to the Royal British Legion.
