FIREFIGHTERS suspect vandals started a blaze which damaged two sheds and a house in Dalton.

Huddersfield firefighters went to a terrace of houses in Harp Inge after a shed was set alight at 7.30pm on Saturday. The shed, in the back garden of one of the houses, was well ablaze when they arrived and flames had spread to a shed in the garden next door.

The guttering melted and some windows broke at the second house because of the heat from the fires.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigations into its cause are under way. But officers believe it was caused deliberately.
