A MAN who died after a stabbing in Bradford has been named.

He was Rashid Elahi, 21, who died in hospital after a disturbance in the Gaythorne Road area of West Bowling on Friday afternoon.

A 24-year-old man injured in the incident is in a critical condition in hospital.

A 17-year-old youth was treated for cuts and discharged.

Five people were arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 42-year-old man and a woman aged 34 have now been released without charge.

A 26-year-old man has been released on police bail.

Two men, aged 32 and 25, are still in police custody.

A major investigation is under way.

It is led by Det Supt Tim Forber, from West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

He said that while the investigation was at an early stage it did not appear to be a random attack.

Police were called to Gaythorne Road at about 3.45pm on Friday.

They found three men with stab injuries.

All were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Mr Elahi had surgery, but was pronounced dead just before 3am on Saturday morning.
