A MAN of 51 suffered a fractured skull and serious facial injuries in a street attack.

Police today urged anyone who saw the victim being beaten in Manchester Road, Longroyd Bridge, at 8.30pm on Friday to come forward.

The attack happened outside Samra Motor Parts.

The victim was hit, knocked to the ground and then kicked in the face and body.

He suffered a fractured skull, along with broken bones in his face and severe bruising.

He is said to be in a stable condition at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Sgt Tim O'Sullivan, of Huddersfield police, said: "This was a terrible attack. Manchester Road would have been busy at that time in the evening, so people passing by must have seen what happened."
