A JUBILEE party organiser today said he was "overwhelmed" by the public response.
An event planned in Clifton, Brighouse, will be the best ever in the village, promised 82-year-old Charlie Ingle.
Villagers will hold their traditional Faffen Fuffen Fair to mark the queen's Golden Jubilee.
A band will join a procession around the village using anything which makes a noise from trumpets to tin lids.
Mr Ingle, of Deep Lane, Clifton, spoke of the enthusiastic reaction after a public meeting this week.
More than £500 was taken in donations, including two of £200 each.
Mr Ingle drummed up support after delivering 1,000 leaflets outlining plans for the June 3 event.
He said: "There's still a lot to fix up but this is going to be a bigger do than we've ever had."
Fifty villagers attended the meeting and another is planned in the ommunity centre on February 12.
