SECURITY cameras will continue to monitor Meltham.

The Town Council is to renew the contract for the network of CCTV cameras protecting the shopping centre.

Meltham Town council chairman Clr John Bakanoba said the matter was discussed at the latest meeting of the Finance Committee.

The network of cameras was installed in the late 1990s.

The renewed contract with operator Centurion will be for a period of three years.

Costs for the cameras come from the Council's budget which was set at £34,413 for the coming year.
