CHILDREN with special needs will benefit from new play equipment thanks to a fundraisers’ fun day.
The Bridge Tavern in Holmbridge presented Lydgate Special School with a £600 cheque.
The New Mill school – which teaches 78 children aged five to 16 with complex learning needs – will spend the money on play equipment.
Staff members Leanne Smith and Amanda Davies, who live in Holmbridge, organised a family fun day at the Bridge.
The event included stalls, face-painting, a bouncy castle and an auction.
Head teacher Martin Ord was delighted to receive the cheque, adding: “I think it’s absolutely fabulous.”
