THE community has pulled together in the wake of the shocking death of Stevie Cameron, a neighbourhood police chief said.

Insp Mark Trueman, of The Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team, said people in Milnsbridge were still coming to terms with the 22-year-old’s death from severe head injuries. But he added: “The community are rallying together and people are coming forward to talk about what happened.”

Stevie died in a disturbance at Tintern Avenue in the early hours of Sunday.

Twelve men have been arrested and bailed over the incident.

Insp Trueman added: “Any incident of this kind causes upset within a community.

“I have increased patrols within the area of Milnsbridge and Golcar for peace of mind.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call Huddersfield CID on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
