CAMPAIGNERS are fighting on against plans for a communications mast next to a tourist attraction.
Network Rail wants to put up a 50ft structure at the entrance to the railway tunnels at Tunnel End at Standedge.
Legally the company does not need planning permission to go ahead with the proposal.
But Marsden resident Julie Henry believes the mast would ruin the landmark site.
She has collected around 700 signatures against the plan.
Julie said: “Our campaign goes on and we expect a final decision from Network Rail by Thursday, June 5.
“Kirklees Council has the power to issue a directive to stop permitted development rights in a conservation area.
“We hope the council will act if the company decides not to change its plans.”
