A SCARECROW trail was laid across Upperthong to celebrate the coming of the Harvest at St John’s Church.
The 20 scarecrows were built by local groups including cubs, families and church groups and even an undertaker.
Entries were judged by the Border Morris team gardener David Rumstead and artist Debbie George.
First place went to Henry George and family from Upperthong with their Scary Crow.
Second was Anne Horn who installed a gardening ‘scaregrow’ in her front garden.
And third place went to Julie Hunter and family for their Builder Scarecrow.
All the winners received chocolates.
The scarecrow trail will be in place until next Saturday.
