POLICE today renewed a plea for help after a teenager was badly hurt in a mugging.

The 17-year-old suffered a fractured eye socket when he was attacked by three thugs outside Huddersfield Sports Centre.

The attack happened on July 23 but police are renewing their appeal and have new descriptions of the attackers.

The gang stole the boy’s BMX bicycle and wallet after cornering him in the underpass near the centre.

All three were white and in their late teens. One was a 6ft 2in tall skinhead while a second wore a red Manchester United shirt with the number 8 and the name Tevez on the back.

Witnesses should contact Det Con Richard Drabble on 01484 436685.
