THERE has been a good response to a police plea for information after a 27-year-old woman was badly hurt in a street attack.

Sarah Swift suffered a fractured cheekbone, broken arm and a badly bruised face and knees when she was attacked by a gang of thugs on Halton Close, Almondbury, at 6.50pm last Monday.

Police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

And they have revealed today that a message of support for Sarah has even come from America.

Sgt Tim O'Sullivan, of Huddersfield police, said: "We have had a good response and inquiries are continuing.

"We would like to thank everyone who has helped.

"We have even had an e-mail of support from someone in America who read about what happened to Sarah on the Huddersfield Examiner's website."
