A HUDDERSFIELD mother and daughter will be putting on their walking boots to raise cash for charity.

Amal Salah and 17-year-old Samia Elyoussfi, of Lindley, will be joining thousands of walkers in London's Hyde Park when they take part in the 10-kilometre Kellogg's Corn Flakes Great Walk.

The pair, who live in College Avenue, will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Greenhead College student Samia said: "I lost two family members to cancer when they were quite young, so I am very passionate about the cause.

"I'm sure it will be an experience of a lifetime and I am so excited about it."

The pair have been already been training hard for the event on Sunday, September 18.

Samia added: "We've been doing lots of walking and working out in the gym.

"I have always wanted to do something like this for charity. I'm looking forward to it."

Samia, who also does voluntary work at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, said she hoped to raise more than £100 from the event.
