A WALK is being organised around Castle Hill to celebrate the first signs of spring.

The six-mile trek on the pathways around the Almondbury landmark will mark Imbolc Day.

Imbolc is one of the four main celebrations in the ancient Celtic calendar and traditionally regarded as the first day of spring.

Ranger Julian Brown will be leading the moderate/ hard walk on February 1 from the car park at noon.

The walk is free and expected to last around three hours.
