BUDDHIST nuns, monks and lay-practitioners are to take part in a sponsored walk in West Yorkshire.

Members of the Huddersfield mediation centre will walk about 10 miles from the local centre to Halifax on Saturday, June 5.

They will meet in the World Peace Cafe, North Bridge, Halifax, where they will join fellow Buddhists from Todmorden, Bradford and Keighley.

They aim to raise money to build peace temples in major cities around the world.

The temples aim to pursue peace and harmony and will be built over a number of generations.

Each temple will be adorned with symbols of harmony and set within a meditation garden.

The will be open to everyone.
