THESE smiling Rainbows get ready to step out on this Sunday's Examiner Charity Challenge.

And they hope to enjoy a picnic half-way round.

More than a dozen members of the 9th Longwood Rainbows are taking part in the event.

The girls, siblings and parents are walking the two-and-a-half-mile pushchair and wheelchair route around Blackmoorfoot Reservoir.

Rainbow leader Jo-anne Sanders said: "The girls are all quite fired up about it and we're delighted as a group to be giving back something to the community."

The group is raising money for the Huddersfield-based Kate and Daniel Trust, which provides free counselling for bereaved parents.

The trust, which has been providing support since June 2000, is named in memory of two cousins who died within six months in 1995.
