A COUPLE have been trying to pass fake £10 notes in Dewsbury.

They go up to people in the town centre and ask for change for the tenners.

People later realise they have been conned and the notes are counterfeit.

Community beat officer Pc Colin Sykes said: "The couple seem to be preying mainly on elderly and vulnerable people.

"This happened four times last Thursday in the Market Place, Wellington Road and the area around Westgate, outside Marks and Spencer.

"I want people to be aware this is happening, so they are not taken in."

The couple are in their early 20s and smartly dressed. The woman has long brown hair.
